Posterior Ocular Chamber

The posterior ocular chamber lies behind the posterior surface of the iris and ciliary body and in front of the anterior surface of the lens and the anterior membrane of the vitreous body. The suspension fibers of the lens (ciliary zonule) are situated in the posterior ocular chamber. The anterior and posterior ocular chambers contain clear chamber fluid. This is produced by the ciliary gland. The chamber fluid flows from the posterior chamber through the pupil into the anterior chamber. It leaves the eyeball via Schlemm's canal, flows into the ocular chamber veins and over these into the conjunctival capilliaries.
